Hello Gary here, and welcome to True Lost Treasure Stories!
I've been a lost treasure researcher for over 45 years now.
It all started when, as a young man, I began going down to my local library and reading through the old newspapers that the library had on microfilm.
I was so fascinated by our local history that I would spend hours scanning those old newspapers, until one day I came across an article about some local road workers that had uncovered a pot of gold under a street that they were repairing in 1915. I was hooked on lost treasure right then and there! I started searching those old papers for more stories of lost treasure, and I found more! I was now infected with an incurable case of "THE FEVER"!
I started devouring every lost treasure book that the library had. After I had read them all, I discovered that there were lost treasure magazines that were published monthly that I could buy!
I saved every story from those magazines and printed off every lost treasure story from our library newspapers. I then started in on the archival room at the library, reading as many old family biographies and histories that I could get my hands on, keeping an eye out for hints of lost treasure. I found a few stories there too. I just couldn't get enough of this stuff. I was now a full blown lost treasure "JUNKIE"!
And then the internet happened! Old historical newspapers from every state in the U.S. right in front of my eyes. I was in Heaven! I started searching for any keywords that might lead me to any lost treasure stories. I found hundreds! I started copying them and filing them away. I spent years doing that ha ha!
I ended up with hundreds and hundreds of lost treasure stories on file. My partner and I have been to some of these sites and searched them. But I have so many files that we wouldn't be able to get to them in two lifetimes!
